Bolsonaro has been detained after authorities determined he posed a definite escape threat while under domestic detention.
The ex-president was found guilty of plotting a armed takeover in the ninth month and sentenced more than a 27-year term in incarceration, but he remained under house arrest pending legal challenges.

The former president is being kept in a federal law enforcement building in Brasilia and will experience a custody hearing on the following day.
Recent Judicial Appeals
It was only on the previous day that the ex-leader's attorneys asked the Top Court to allow him to fulfill his full incarceration period under house arrest, with electronic monitoring.
They also asked that Bolsonaro be allowed to exit his dwelling for medical care, saying he required frequent medical attention for respiratory ailments and other health problems.
Context of Sentencing
The former president was determined responsible of leading a scheme aimed at keeping him in power after he failed to win the presidential race to his left-wing rival, Lula.
