The star midfielder Operated in a high position out wide while also contributed with dirty work. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance but scuffed an effort over. Replaced in the closing stages for a teammate, his rival, after being booked. Seven

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's top opening of the first half, his effort excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah hanging back, it fell to him to offer an outlet on the right although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Replaced late in the match. 6

The captain The match-winner scoring two more strikes at international level. The first a typical opportunist's goal and the second a classy finish with his head having drifted away from his marker. At 32, his form is unwavering and England have every chance in future competitions when he's in the team. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Struggled to get into the game from the left. Was presented with a decent opportunity following a pass from a teammate but Strakosha kept it out. Rashford produced a bigger influence in his place. 5
