Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, as stated by an announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
