Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
