Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
